Delta Air Lines is making strides with its massive Terminal 1 upgrade at Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport (MSP), finishing phases of the project two months ahead of schedule. Partnering with the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), Delta Air Lines is on track to complete the most extensive renovation in the airport’s history, offering a smoother, more modern passenger experience.
The $242 million project began in 2023 and focuses on transforming six concourses and approximately 75 gate areas. Delta Air Lines manages the upgrade program, with MAC funding the majority of the construction. The final phase of renovations, which includes concourses A, B, and G, has started ahead of schedule, ensuring even faster delivery of key improvements.
From new digital gate signs to modernized LED lighting and upgraded seating with power outlets, the enhancements aim to improve passenger convenience. The project also features terrazzo flooring in key concourses, making them more accessible and durable. Additionally, Delta branding and refreshed display screens will offer a cohesive and stylish environment for travelers.
While work continues, the impact on daily airport operations has been minimal, as much of the construction takes place overnight. With the improvements already visible in some concourses, passengers can expect an enhanced travel experience that aligns with Delta Air Lines’ commitment to quality.
