American Airlines is ramping up its operations in Mexico by adding more destinations and increasing daily flights. The airline, along with its regional unit, American Eagle, already serves 27 Mexican airports from its main hub in Dallas/Fort Worth. As the largest operator between the US and Mexico, the airline is set to reintroduce flights to Tampico in March 2025, marking its 27th destination from Dallas/Fort Worth and 29th overall in the country.

The new service will connect Dallas/Fort Worth to Tampico with daily flights. American Eagle will operate this route using Envoy Air’s Embraer E170 aircraft, with a capacity of 66 passengers. The airline will offer a total of up to 64 daily take-offs to Mexico from its primary hub. Tampico will join other recently added destinations like Veracruz, Tulum, and Tijuana.
New Route Details
American Eagle’s flights to Tampico will cover 636 nautical miles and operate daily. The schedule for this new route includes a morning departure from Dallas/Fort Worth and a midday return flight from Tampico. This service aims to improve connectivity and support both local passengers and those connecting through American Airlines’ extensive international network.
More Destinations, More Flights
With the launch of the Tampico route, American Airlines continues its growth strategy in Mexico. The airline offers up to 64 daily flights to Mexican cities, an increase of 19% from the previous year. Destinations like Cancun, Monterrey, Los Cabos, and Mexico City will see multiple daily services, ensuring frequent and reliable connections.
Expanding American Airlines’ Network
In addition to the daily flights to Tampico, American Airlines serves a variety of other destinations across Mexico.
