In a significant move, Frontier Airlines pilots overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike if necessary. An impressive 99% supported this vote, thereby showing their readiness to escalate actions during ongoing contract negotiations.

The pilots’ current contract became amendable at the beginning of this year. Since then, the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA), which represents over 2,000 Frontier pilots, has engaged in mediated discussions with the airline. However, ALPA reported that the negotiations have not produced a contract that meets industry standards. Consequently, this lack of progress led the union to announce the strike authorization ballot on September 30, 2024.

Voting has concluded, and it revealed that 97% of pilots participated. Moreover, the overwhelming majority supported the strike authorization. This outcome, therefore, shows the pilots’ strong commitment to achieving a fair agreement that reflects their contributions to Frontier Airlines.

As of now, these conditions have not been met. Therefore, ALPA cannot implement a strike at this time. Furthermore, Frontier Airlines has committed to reaching a fair agreement while prioritizing its pilots’ needs.
