Avelo Airlines has officially opened its sixth operational base at Lakeland International Airport (LAL) in Central Florida. This location conveniently lies between Tampa and Orlando, enhancing travel options for both residents and visitors. Furthermore, Avelo Airlines is launching four new routes from Lakeland, with one-way fares starting at an attractive $46.

Now, travelers can enjoy nonstop flights from LAL to Charlotte/Concord, NC; Boston/Manchester, NH; Rochester, NY; and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Notably, Avelo Airlines stands out as the only airline providing direct service to these destinations from Lakeland. It offers twice-weekly flights on its Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.

As Avelo’s hub in Central Florida, LAL complements operations at Orlando International Airport (MCO). This expansion not only allows Avelo Airlines to provide affordable and reliable air travel in the region but also makes it easier for travelers to access more options. The airline will station one aircraft at LAL to support this growth.

Additionally, these new routes will enable easy access to exciting destinations. In fact, Avelo Airlines plans to introduce three more routes in November, connecting Lakeland to Atlanta, Hartford, and Philadelphia/Wilmington. This expansion will ultimately bring the total routes offered from LAL to eight, joining Avelo’s existing network at Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport.
