Iberia strengthens global connectivity with a new direct route between Madrid and Tokyo. This service offers travelers three weekly flights between Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport and Tokyo Narita. The new route marks Iberia’s commitment to expanding its Asian network and connecting more travelers.
The route, launching October 27, 2024, includes over 45,000 seats for the winter season. Airspace restrictions over Russia require a unique flight path. Outbound flights head south, while return flights take a northern route over the Pacific.
For this route, Iberia uses the Airbus A350, which carries 330 passengers efficiently. The A350’s Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines help Iberia cut carbon emissions and boost sustainability. Iberia’s comfortable Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins enhance the passenger experience.
This direct Tokyo route revives Iberia’s historic connection with Japan. Iberia first launched flights to Japan in 1986. Initially, it offered flights with layovers. Direct service began in 1992. Although paused during the pandemic, this revival reinforces Iberia’s commitment to Asia.
Iberia’s Tokyo service supports its network of 140 global destinations. Additional routes to Doha and Innsbruck highlight Iberia’s drive to broaden its reach. Its alliances offer travelers extra perks, including extended layovers through the “Stopover Hola Madrid” program, with unique discounts across Madrid.
Iberia’s new routes aim to improve travel options and efficient connections for passengers worldwide.
