The inaugural flight on November 1 received a warm welcome at Chiang Mai International Airport. Over 100 passengers enjoyed traditional Thai flower garlands and commemorative gifts, marking this important milestone. In addition, key officials from tourism authorities attended the event, highlighting the significance of this travel link.

Cebu Pacific’s direct service between Manila and Chiang Mai not only strengthens ties between the two nations but also allows travelers to easily discover Chiang Mai’s unique attractions. These include its rich heritage and breathtaking landscapes. Consequently, this route invites Filipino tourists to experience more than just popular destinations like Bangkok and Phuket.

Alongside the Manila-Chiang Mai flight, Cebu Pacific provides extensive direct flight options from the Philippines to Thailand. They operate several routes, including daily flights to Bangkok and three weekly flights from Manila to Chiang Mai on Airbus A320 aircraft.

In celebration of the launch, Cebu Pacific offers promotional fares to entice more travelers to book. Additionally, the airline collaborates with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to organize media trips for Filipino influencers. This initiative not only showcases Chiang Mai’s culture but also encourages more Filipinos to explore northern Thailand.

The Philippine market remains crucial for Thai tourism. In fact, destinations like Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Phuket rank high among Filipino travelers. In 2023, Thailand welcomed over 461,000 visitors from the Philippines. With the introduction of this new route, these numbers will likely rise, promoting cultural exchange and strengthening regional ties.
