ITA Airways is expanding its network with a new direct route from Rome Fiumicino to Tripoli Mitiga, set to launch on January 12, 2025. This new service will cater to both business and leisure travelers, as ITA Airways continues to strengthen its presence in North Africa. Moreover, this route reflects the airline’s commitment to expanding its global network.
The Rome-Tripoli route will operate twice a week, every Thursday and Sunday. Flights will depart from Rome at 9:15 a.m. and arrive in Tripoli at 12:10 p.m. On the return journey, the flight will leave Tripoli at 1:05 p.m. and land in Rome at 2:10 p.m. (all times are local). In addition, the schedule is designed to offer convenience for both short and long-haul travelers.
Libya holds growing significance for ITA Airways due to its expanding business opportunities. In fact, many Italian companies are involved in large industrial projects across the country. Consequently, the new flight will provide a critical link that will enhance trade relations between Italy and Libya.
This re-established direct route is the result of valuable collaboration between Italy’s government and civil aviation authorities, along with their Libyan counterparts. These combined efforts highlight ITA Airways’ dedication to improving diplomatic and business relations between the two nations.
Additionally, the new service contributes to ITA Airways’ expanding network. With this addition, the airline will serve a total of 55 destinations during the winter season, further solidifying its position as Italy’s flagship carrier.
Tickets for the Rome-Tripoli flights are now available for booking through ITA Airways’ official channels. As a result, travelers now have more options for connecting Italy and Libya with ease.
