Delta Air Lines will launch 35 new routes in December, connecting US hubs and international destinations. Minneapolis will have the most additions. This expansion includes new and returning routes, strengthening Delta’s network for the winter season.
Delta introduces three brand-new routes. These include a long-haul flight to Brisbane, Australia, Delta’s fourth Oceania destination. The airline will fly its A350-900 aircraft on this route. Boston-Liberia begins on December 21, and Los Angeles-Brisbane starts on December 4. Delta will also launch Minneapolis-Tulum on December 21, replacing American Airlines’ service.
Delta will also return nine routes it last flew over two years ago. These include sunny destinations in the Caribbean and Mexico, perfect for holiday travel. Notably, New York JFK-Barbados returns after eight years. Delta will restart New York JFK–Lagos with daily flights operated on the A330-200 aircraft.
Finally, Delta will resume 23 seasonal routes it flew earlier this year. These services mainly focus on winter vacations, with destinations like Cozumel, Nassau, and Rio de Janeiro. Atlanta, Boston, and New York will dominate these routes. New York JFK to Rio de Janeiro will continue its seasonal operation after a summer pause.
Delta’s new and returning routes will strengthen its network and meet the high demand for holiday travel. Travelers can expect more options and increased frequency this December.
