Lufthansa will charge extra $420 for its Allegris cabin’s best business class seats starting March 30, 2025. This new policy ends the introductory period, which offers free seat selection. Passengers can choose specific seats for an additional fee on select flights, including routes from Munich to Shanghai, San Francisco, and Chicago. More destinations will be added later.
The Allegris cabin offers different seating options. Prices begin at €100 ($105) for privacy seats or extra-long beds. The most luxurious Business Class Suite costs up to €600 ($630). These suites provide extra privacy, larger screens, and more personal space. The suites are at the front of the business-class cabin, with eight available seats. Two middle-row suites can connect for couples traveling together.
This luxurious suite costs between €1,900 and €2,900, depending on flight length. The fee is waived for two passengers booking together at regular fares. Economy passengers now face new seat selection fees. Prices start at €30 and go up to €115 for extra legroom. While business class has seen upgrades, economy passengers will find new, more comfortable seating options for an added cost.
With this new fee structure, Lufthansa provides more options for passengers, but travelers might save by not selecting seats. They could be upgraded to premium seats for free if the available Classic seats are filled.
