Delta Air Lines reintroduces its Boeing 757-200 on the Los Angeles–Seattle route. Starting this week, the airline operates the aircraft between its West Coast hubs. The aircraft last flew the 1,000-mile route in the summer of 2023. This return marks Delta’s fifth route from Seattle this month. Notably, the route offers the shortest connection compared to other city pairs.
Beginning December 19, Delta will operate one daily flight each way. Consequently, the airline reduces its frequencies from six to five daily flights. Specifically, DL2606 departs Los Angeles at 13:20 and arrives in Seattle at 16:30. Similarly, DL2861 leaves Seattle at 18:45 and lands in Los Angeles at 21:30. Delta uses the Boeing 757-200 for these flights, alongside other aircraft types this month.
Throughout December, Delta will operate 22 flights with the Boeing 757-200, offering 4,378 seats. The A321neo will handle 108 flights on the route. Meanwhile, the 737-800 will cover 92 flights. After the holidays, Delta will reduce the Boeing 757-200 flights to six to Seattle and five to Los Angeles in January. In February, Delta will exclusively use the 737 series. However, the A321neo will return in March.
Delta’s temporary use of the 757-200 shows its ability to adapt to demand. By the end of the month, the 757-200 will end its stint on this route. Delta will replace it with other aircraft models. Until then, passengers can enjoy the Boeing 757-200 on flights between Los Angeles and Seattle.
