The Cathay Group celebrates an outstanding achievement, transporting over 100,000 passengers in one day. This marks its highest record since starting its rebuilding efforts.
On December 15, 2024, Cathay Pacific and HK Express, the Group’s main airlines, transported 100,856 passengers. This figure exceeded the 100,000-passenger mark for the first time in a single day.
The group maintained momentum throughout the peak holiday season. It surpassed 100,000 passengers on eight separate days, continuing until December 31, 2024.
In 2024, the Cathay Group completed its two-year rebuilding journey, focusing on expanding flights and adding destinations. The airline now offers long-haul flights to Hyderabad, Dallas, Munich, and Brussels, which will launch in 2025. Additionally, HK Express added Shizuoka to its network and plans to introduce Sendai later this month.
Cathay Pacific and HK Express will reach their full pre-pandemic capacity by January 2025. The airlines plan to operate flights to 100 destinations worldwide. This achievement signals major progress for the Group as it continues to grow. With Hong Kong’s Three-Runway System now in operation, Cathay strengthens the city’s role as a global aviation hub. The Group’s future looks bright as it strengthens its connections with Mainland China and beyond.
