United Airlines expands its international network with direct flights between Los Angeles (LAX) and Toronto (YYZ). The service starts on May 22, 2025, during the busy summer season.
United will offer four weekly flights on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Flight UA418 departs LAX at 11:45 PM and arrives in Toronto at 7:45 AM after a five-hour flight. Passengers can now book tickets for the route.
The airline will operate these flights with its Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The plane seats 166 passengers in business, economy plus, and economy class. The 737-800 fleet is among United’s oldest, though new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft are replacing older models.
Currently, Air Canada operates the only direct flights on this route with its Airbus A321 aircraft. United’s new service increases options for transborder travel. United and Air Canada cooperate, offering seats on each other’s flights and sharing revenue on key US-Canada routes.
This expansion strengthens travel between the US and Canada. The US-Canada market remains a top international route, despite pandemic setbacks. United’s new service boosts passenger options with more flexibility.
