AirAsia, working with Kota Kinabalu International Airport, conducted a workshop to inspire students from Maktab Rendah Sains Mara Kota Kinabalu. This initiative gave underprivileged students a firsthand experience in aviation, sparking their interest and opening career possibilities. The workshop took place at AirAsia’s second-largest hub in Malaysia, providing a close-up view of airline and airport operations.
Students participated in activities such as simulated check-ins, aircraft tours, and learning about airport fire and rescue services. This hands-on experience aimed to simplify the aviation industry, especially for first-time learners.
AirAsia created the workshop to develop local talent and inspire future aviation leaders. The event demonstrated the airline’s dedication to community growth by providing students with key insights into aviation careers. Participants learned about various career options, helping them visualize a future in this dynamic field.
Held over two days, the workshop included students and teachers from two schools. On the first day, students from Maktab Rendah Sains Mara Kota Kinabalu attended. The following day, participants from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Petagas joined, further expanding the educational reach.
