Hong Kong Airlines celebrates the Lunar New Year by returning to one of Australia’s top tourist spots: the Gold Coast. This Queensland destination has long attracted travelers from Asia, especially those seeking winter sunshine. The airline resumed this route after a six-year gap on January 17, 2025. Flights will operate four times a week, ensuring travelers enjoy a smooth journey during the festive season.
The inaugural flights featured vibrant celebrations in Hong Kong and at Gold Coast Airport, welcoming passengers on board. The first flight left Hong Kong late at night, offering comfort and service for business and economy passengers. The Airbus A330-300 flew for 8 hours before landing at Gold Coast Airport. The return flight departed the next day, heading back to Hong Kong.
This seasonal service runs until February 15, 2025, for the Lunar New Year. It operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, offering flexibility for travelers. Hong Kong Airlines expands its fleet to support new routes, especially in Australia and North America. This growth follows the airline’s network reduction in 2019.
Hong Kong Airlines improves its offerings with flexible baggage options and complimentary meals. As the airline’s long-haul network grows, passengers can expect more travel choices, particularly to cities like Vancouver and Los Angeles.
The airline also enjoys success on regional routes, such as to Japan. As travel demand rises, Hong Kong Airlines meets the growing need for international and regional destinations.
