Turkish Airlines expands its global network with new routes to Minneapolis and Auckland in 2025. The airline plans to increase its U.S. presence by reaching 20 cities. Currently, no U.S. airline offers direct flights to Istanbul (IST). This expansion connects Minneapolis and Auckland to Istanbul, enhancing Turkish Airlines’ access to the Asia-Pacific region.
This growth shows Turkish Airlines’ increasing influence in international aviation. The airline already operates in major U.S. cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Adding Minneapolis and Auckland strengthens its presence in key markets. It also demonstrates Turkish Airlines’ focus on long-haul travel and connecting more destinations to Istanbul.
Along with these new routes, Turkish Airlines boosts its ultra-long-haul services. It now offers 17-hour flights to Santiago, Chile, and 18-hour connections to Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. These additions reflect its commitment to growing globally.
Turkish Airlines also expands through bilateral negotiations, now covering 175 countries. These agreements secure more flight rights and help the airline grow its operations. Istanbul Airport’s new triple parallel runway system supports this progress, increasing its capacity for takeoff and landing.
With these developments, Turkish Airlines aims to become a leading global carrier, offering more destinations and seamless connections.
