Emirates has postponed the launch of its Airbus A350-900 to some major routes, including Lyon, Bologna, and Muscat. Initially scheduled to begin in early 2025, the deployment has been moved to summer 2025 due to delays in aircraft delivery. Fans of the advanced A350-900 will now have to wait a little longer to enjoy its quiet cabins and enhanced onboard experience.

The new A350-900 launch dates are set for June and July 2025. Emirates will start operating the aircraft on the Lyon route from June 1, with Bologna and Muscat following on July 1. Previously, Emirates had planned to deploy the A350-900 on these routes starting in March. Despite the delay, Emirates will continue to operate these routes with its Boeing 777 fleet until the new aircraft arrives.

On the Lyon route, the A350-900 will replace the Boeing 777, offering slightly fewer seats but a more modern flying experience. Passengers will enjoy quieter cabins and better fuel efficiency. Similarly, the Bologna and Muscat routes will switch to the A350-900 by the summer, bringing passengers an upgraded cabin experience.

The delay in A350-900 deployment stems from aircraft delivery issues. Emirates confirmed that despite the schedule changes, flight frequencies to these destinations will remain the same. The airline reassures customers that their travel experience will remain unaffected in terms of flight availability.

The A350-900 is part of Emirates’ broader fleet modernization plan, which includes the delivery of 65 A350 aircraft by 2028. This new aircraft is already operating on select routes, including destinations like Edinburgh and Mumbai. Emirates has designed the A350-900 to enhance passenger comfort with spacious interiors, large touchscreens, and advanced Wi-Fi capabilities. It remains one of the most fuel-efficient aircraft in its class.
