Austrian Airlines is strengthening its transatlantic network by resuming daily flights between Vienna and Los Angeles. Starting April 29, 2025, the airline will deploy its Boeing 777-200ER, offering travelers a direct and seamless journey between Europe and the United States. As a result, this expansion boosts connectivity and marks a significant step in the airline’s long-haul strategy.
With travel demand surging, Austrian Airlines is increasing flight frequency to meet passenger needs. Initially, the airline will operate two flights in April, providing 660 seats. However, from May to September, daily flights will ensure a robust capacity of up to 10,230 seats per month in each direction. Clearly, this move reflects the growing demand for transatlantic travel and supports both leisure and business passengers.
The Vienna-Los Angeles route spans 6,137 miles, making it the longest in Austrian Airlines’ network. Moreover, it surpasses other key destinations, including Tokyo, Shanghai, and Bangkok. At the same time, this service strengthens the airline’s presence in the U.S. market, where it already connects major cities such as New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.
Austrian Airlines relies on its Boeing 777-200ER, the largest aircraft in its fleet, to handle long-haul operations. In addition, this aircraft features a three-class configuration, ensuring comfort for all passengers. Specifically, the business class offers 30 seats with extra legroom, while the premium economy and economy sections provide spacious seating options.
As a member of the Lufthansa Group, Austrian Airlines benefits from a vast international network. Consequently, this partnership enables seamless connections beyond direct destinations, making transatlantic travel more accessible. Therefore, the return of daily service to Los Angeles reaffirms Austrian Airlines’ commitment to providing reliable and efficient travel options.
Travelers can look forward to an improved flying experience with this enhanced service. Furthermore, Austrian Airlines continues to invest in long-haul expansion, ensuring passengers enjoy better connectivity and more travel opportunities.
