Ethiopian Airlines is set to strengthen its European presence with a new passenger route to Porto, Portugal. Starting July 2, 2025, the airline will operate flights four times a week, offering a seamless connection through Madrid. As a result, passengers will enjoy greater travel flexibility while Ethiopian Airlines reinforces its role in linking Africa and Europe.

The new route will be serviced by the modern B787 Dreamliner, ensuring a comfortable journey. Departing from Addis Ababa, flights will make a brief stop in Madrid before reaching Porto. Previously, the airline served Lisbon through codeshare agreements with major European cities like London and Milan. Currently, Ethiopian Airlines operates around 140 weekly passenger flights to various European destinations.
