Worcester Regional Airport (ORH) is set for a major boost in air connectivity starting this summer. American Airlines will launch a new daily nonstop route to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) on July 5, 2025. This addition brings Worcester’s total daily destinations back to five, with three of the nation’s top airlines serving the airport.
The new route to Philadelphia will be available for booking from April 21. This marks a shift from American’s previous daily service to New York’s JFK Airport. However, passengers heading to New York City can still rely on Delta’s daily flights to LaGuardia Airport from Worcester.
This expansion opens exciting travel opportunities for residents of Central Massachusetts. Through American Airlines’ extensive hub in Philadelphia, travelers will gain access to numerous domestic and international connections. Popular domestic destinations include Miami, Houston, Austin, Raleigh-Durham, San Juan, and Dallas-Fort Worth. International flights to cities like Dublin and Amsterdam will also be easily accessible.
Philadelphia International Airport serves as a crucial gateway on the East Coast, handling millions of passengers annually. Situated just seven miles from downtown Philadelphia, the airport offers easy access to the city’s bustling business, cultural, and tourist areas. American Airlines operates over 355 daily departures from Philadelphia, connecting travelers to more than 120 cities worldwide. This highlights the airport’s strategic importance for both business and leisure travel.
The addition of this new route not only enhances Worcester’s aviation options but also offers passengers greater flexibility and improved access to global destinations through one of American Airlines’ largest hubs.
