Discover the Magic of Dhofar: Oman Air Expands Services to Boost Local Tourism

Oman Air has announced a major increase in domestic flights for the 2025 Khareef Dhofar season. This expansion will, therefore, support Oman’s booming tourism sector and provide easier access to Salalah’s stunning landscapes. Starting on July 1, 2025, Oman Air will operate up to 12 daily flights between Muscat and Salalah. As a result, the airline aims to meet the high demand during Khareef, a season that transforms Salalah into a green paradise, attracting both local and international visitors.

With this move, Oman Air significantly increases seating capacity by 16% compared to 2024. Moreover, the airline added 70,000 seats to meet peak-season demand. Consequently, travelers will enjoy better convenience and more travel choices. To further enhance accessibility, Oman Air also keeps fares affordable with its fixed national fare policy. Specifically, Omani nationals can fly round-trip for OMR 54 between July 1 and September 5, 2025. Travelers must, however, book early and verify their ID to access these special fares.

In addition to these efforts, the expanded service highlights Oman Air’s continued commitment to strengthening domestic travel. The airline simplifies booking through its official website. In fact, passengers are required to enable location settings and select the Omani national option when booking from inside Oman. Furthermore, passengers need to verify their ID at the airport to qualify for national fares.

This seasonal expansion reflects Oman Air’s long-term strategy of investing in both global and domestic routes. Since 1993, the airline has evolved from a regional carrier into a global player. Yet, it continues to prioritize domestic routes and national tourism, reinforcing its role in connecting Omanis with their natural heritage. These services, therefore, enhance access to attractions like Salalah’s waterfalls, misty mountains, and lush landscapes.

By increasing connectivity and keeping prices affordable, Oman Air plays a central role in promoting travel within the Sultanate. Ultimately, this initiative not only supports tourism growth but also helps diversify the nation’s economy and its future prospects.
