Air India Express Meltdown Leaves Flyers Fuming in Extreme Heat

Air India Express faced intense backlash after a recent Delhi to Bhubaneswar flight turned chaotic. During the May 11 journey, the cabin’s cooling system failed just after boarding, causing temperatures to rise quickly.

As a result, 180 passengers suffered in extreme heat for almost two hours. Many tried to stay cool by drinking water, removing layers, and using magazines as fans. Meanwhile, one traveler’s health worsened mid-flight, which forced the crew to take immediate action.

Consequently, photos of the distress spread rapidly on social media and fueled public outrage. People criticized the airline’s slow response and questioned its safety practices. Additionally, the airline’s apology failed to calm the storm as it blamed ground power limitations.

Previously, a similar issue occurred on a Pune-to-Jaipur flight, exposing a worrying trend. Therefore, observers demanded strict action and regulatory enforcement. They believe Air India Express must upgrade its maintenance and customer service standards immediately.

Moreover, critics highlighted that passengers face strict penalties for minor issues, but airlines often escape accountability. This imbalance continues to frustrate travelers and erode trust. Hence, experts called for stronger protections to ensure safety during emergencies.

Despite these problems, Air India Express aims to grow and boost profits. However, recurring service failures risk damaging its public image. Unless the airline improves its reliability, it will lose consumer confidence and fall behind competitors.

Until now, authorities have not responded. Still, public pressure keeps building. Flyers demand safer flights, better care, and clear solutions—not overheated cabins and repeated excuses. Ultimately, India’s expanding aviation industry must prioritize passenger welfare to succeed.
