Emirates has taken another major step in solidifying its commitment to Mauritius by renewing its strategic partnership with Air Mauritius. This long-standing alliance, which first began in 2003, continues to play a vital role in connecting Mauritius to global markets and supporting the island’s tourism-driven economy.
Through this renewed agreement, Emirates expands its codeshare network and enhances travel flexibility for passengers flying to and from Mauritius. Both airlines now offer better flight coordination, smoother booking experiences, and a shared frequent flyer program. These benefits enable travelers to use one ticket across several destinations, earning and redeeming loyalty points more easily.
Since Emirates began serving Mauritius in 2002, the partnership has grown significantly. Emirates has carried millions of passengers and large volumes of cargo, generating considerable economic impact. The airline now operates 14 weekly flights to Mauritius, exclusively using its luxurious Airbus A380 aircraft. These flights boost the island’s tourism industry while also creating thousands of local jobs in aviation, hospitality, and logistics.
Mauritius has focused heavily on boosting air connectivity to attract visitors from both traditional and emerging markets. Emirates aligns perfectly with this strategy by linking the island to over 128 global destinations. This enhances tourism, supports economic development, and elevates Mauritius as a regional travel hub.
Air Mauritius also gains from this partnership, as it can now market additional routes operated by Emirates. This cooperation further integrates their services and broadens their joint network. Emirates, in turn, can sell tickets on Air Mauritius’ regional flights, opening up travel options across the Indian Ocean and beyond.
The renewed collaboration emphasizes the airlines’ shared vision of sustainable growth, customer convenience, and long-term development. With strong government and regulatory support, this alliance promises even greater opportunities in passenger travel and cargo services.
