Qantas Boosts Europe-Australia Cargo with New Strategic Partnership

Qantas formed a strong partnership with Global GSA Group to grow Europe-Australia air freight. The three-year deal boosts Qantas’ cargo services and expands its network in Europe. Global GSA Group acts as Qantas Freight’s General Sales Agent in Europe.

Starting June 2025, Qantas flies three weekly Boeing 787-9 cargo flights from Rome to Perth and Sydney. These flights run through the summer peak, using aircraft built for efficiency and cargo volume. Qantas keeps its year-round service from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Australia. Each flight carries up to 45 tonnes of cargo, serving industries needing reliable delivery.

The partnership creates a flexible cargo network connecting Europe and Australia. Qantas uses domestic flights from Perth to Melbourne and Brisbane to move freight efficiently. Sydney serves as a hub linking cargo to Pacific markets like Auckland and Nouméa. Freight forwarders can choose flexible routes across continents.

This alliance helps the aviation sector by increasing cargo flights and capacity. The growing demand from e-commerce and global trade drives this growth. Airlines can lower costs and offer better fares to passengers. Reliable cargo flows improve product availability worldwide, helping retail, tourism, and hospitality.

Global GSA Group’s European network gives Qantas access to more interline routes. This strengthens Qantas’ position in Europe and expands long-haul trade lanes.

The partnership shows Qantas’ forward-thinking approach to freight. It matches the evolving needs of global trade and opens new business and tourism opportunities.
