Emirates has officially resumed operations in Damascus, signaling a major leap in regional air connectivity. With that, Syria’s capital rejoins the airline’s expansive global network that spans six continents. This return boosts travel, tourism, and economic exchange across the region.
Notably, the airline’s first flight landed with 286 passengers and received a traditional water cannon salute. As a result, the moment marked a new chapter in restoring air links to Syria. Additionally, Emirates officials emphasized the airline’s goal to reestablish strong international routes in the Middle East.
Currently, the airline operates three flights each week to Damascus. However, Emirates will add a fourth flight starting in August. Furthermore, it plans to launch daily service from late October, offering unmatched flexibility and convenience for global travelers.
Meanwhile, Emirates is enhancing its network through a growing codeshare with flydubai. This partnership increases travel options across 168 destinations in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Therefore, travelers flying to or from Damascus can now connect more easily to distant locations.
Emirates uses its Boeing 777-200LR for the route, offering premium service in both classes. Moreover, passengers enjoy spacious seating, regional cuisine, and award-winning entertainment. The menu features local delicacies, while the in-flight system provides hundreds of Arabic programs.
Clearly, this expansion goes beyond a simple flight restart. It reflects Emirates’ commitment to innovation and stronger diplomatic ties. With increased flights and strategic cooperation, the airline places Damascus at the center of its global vision. Consequently, travelers gain better access to Syria and more comfort in every journey.
