IndiGo is transforming regional air travel with new routes from Ghaziabad’s Hindon Airport. As a result, Delhi-NCR commuters now enjoy smoother alternatives to the crowded Indira Gandhi International Airport. Since 2019, Hindon has witnessed a surge in passenger traffic. While the airport had just 8,000 passengers in its first year, the number skyrocketed to over 80,000 in 2024. Clearly, IndiGo has fueled this growth by offering reliable and cost-effective services.
Furthermore, IndiGo now operates around 70 weekly flights from Hindon. These flights connect passengers to major metros without delays. Thus, people in Ghaziabad, Noida, and East Delhi gain faster, more convenient travel options.
Because of this, the load on Delhi’s main airport decreases. Passengers can now avoid long airport drives and heavy terminal congestion. In turn, this improves travel experience across the region.
In addition, IndiGo is targeting under-served destinations like Jorhat and Tiruchirappalli. These plans reflect a strong push for deeper regional integration. Also, they signal IndiGo’s intent to lead India’s domestic aviation market.
