Wizz Air has announced a major expansion at Bratislava Airport, strengthening its Central European network. The airline will open a new base in the Slovakian capital, supported by two Airbus A321neo aircraft. This move adds thirteen fresh routes across Europe and increases capacity for millions of travelers. As a result, passengers will enjoy more choices, lower fares, and better connections.
The new base will connect Bratislava with major cities in Southern, Western, and Eastern Europe. Moreover, this network growth will attract leisure and business travelers while reducing dependence on Vienna International Airport. In addition, more flight choices will help cut prices and ease congestion, making travel more accessible for the region.
Wizz Air will also boost annual seat capacity by nearly one million, which will transform Bratislava Airport’s role. Furthermore, the A321neo aircraft will lower fuel consumption and reduce emissions, matching the airline’s eco-friendly goals. Because of these upgrades, passenger numbers could grow from two to nearly three million by the end of 2026.
