Turkish Airlines continues to dominate global skies in 2025 with remarkable momentum. The airline transported over sixty million passengers in only eight months. Consequently, this achievement highlights booming demand in both passenger travel and cargo services worldwide.
From January to August, Turkish Airlines carried 60.7 million travelers, marking 5.8% growth year-on-year. Moreover, the airline secured an impressive 82.7% load factor, which confirmed efficient seat utilization. As a result, strong gains across international and domestic flights reinforced the carrier’s dominance.
International transfer traffic drove much of the expansion, rising 10.3% compared with last year. Furthermore, Istanbul’s central hub role enabled 23.1 million passengers to connect seamlessly across continents. In August alone, 9.4 million travelers chose Turkish Airlines, representing nearly 12% monthly growth.
During the summer peak, passenger demand accelerated further. Domestic flights achieved a 92.6% load factor, while international routes reached 86%. In addition, available seat kilometers increased by 6.4%, showing a deliberate expansion strategy designed to capture global demand.
Turkish Airlines also advanced its cargo business, transporting 1.4 million tons of goods. Meanwhile, this represented 5.4% growth in cargo, which strengthened revenue diversity and competitiveness. August alone confirmed resilience, as cargo volumes rose by 10.5%.
The carrier’s fleet reached 501 aircraft by August, therefore expanding both capacity and global reach. With a larger fleet, the airline supports higher frequency flights and new destinations. Moreover, Turkish Airlines continues leveraging its prime location to connect Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Looking forward, the airline remains set to close 2025 with record traffic. Consequently, strong demand for both passengers and cargo ensures Turkish Airlines maintains its leading role in global aviation.
