Iberia is set to strengthen its presence in Mexico with a new direct route connecting Madrid and Monterrey. Starting June 2, 2026, the Spanish airline will operate three weekly flights, enhancing connectivity between Europe and northern Mexico. This expansion highlights Iberia’s strategy to grow in key international markets while meeting rising demand for seamless travel.
The new flights will link two dynamic cities—Madrid, a hub of European culture and business, and Monterrey, a leading industrial and tech center in Mexico. Iberia will operate the route using its modern Airbus A330-200 aircraft, offering Business and Economy cabins for travelers seeking comfort and convenience.
Iberia continues to invest strategically in the Mexican market, already operating multiple daily flights to Mexico City. With Monterrey added to its network, Iberia expects to carry more than 800,000 passengers between Spain and Mexico in 2026. This move reinforces Iberia’s leadership as one of the main airlines connecting Europe and Latin America.
This route also brings benefits for business and leisure travelers. Executives will enjoy smoother trips to Monterrey’s growing financial and industrial districts. Meanwhile, tourists will discover new opportunities to explore Mexico’s northern region, including its scenic mountains and vibrant culture. The direct connection allows for shorter travel times and flexible flight options, encouraging more international exchange between the two countries.
Iberia is also committed to sustainable travel. The Airbus A330-200 offers fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions, aligning with the airline’s environmental goals. By expanding responsibly, Iberia combines growth with eco-conscious innovation, ensuring that every journey supports both travelers and the planet.
With this new route, Iberia enhances convenience, sustainability, and cultural exchange—marking another milestone in its long-standing connection between Spain and Mexico.
