Turkish Airlines Expands Reach with New Istanbul–Timișoara Route

Turkish Airlines is set to enhance its European network with a new route connecting Istanbul and Timișoara. The service begins in April 2026 and will operate five times weekly on Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Therefore, travelers from Romania will now enjoy faster access to Istanbul and its global connections. Moreover, this move positions Turkish Airlines as a stronger bridge between Eastern Europe and worldwide destinations.

Additionally, the inclusion of Timișoara strengthens Turkish Airlines’ growing network in Romania, which already includes Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, and Constanța. With this addition, the airline continues to show commitment toward improving regional travel and expanding its international footprint. Furthermore, the route will give travelers from western Romania smoother access to more than 350 global destinations through Istanbul, one of the world’s busiest hubs.

Istanbul, as a global crossroads, links Europe, Asia, and the Middle East seamlessly. Through this connection, business travelers can now reach major financial centers more quickly, while leisure passengers can explore Turkey’s rich heritage, including Cappadocia and the Turkish Riviera. Besides that, Turkish Airlines ensures both comfort and efficiency, which makes international travel more convenient and enjoyable for passengers from Timișoara.

Meanwhile, this launch also supports the strengthening of business ties between Romania and Turkey. As trade and investment continue to grow, the new route will help foster more economic cooperation and tourism exchanges. Therefore, both countries will benefit from improved mobility and increased business opportunities.

In addition, Turkish Airlines remains focused on offering exceptional service while expanding its global reach. As a result, the new Istanbul–Timișoara connection marks another milestone in building stronger links between South-East Europe and the world. Consequently, this expansion enhances connectivity, drives tourism growth, and reinforces Turkish Airlines’ leadership in international travel.
