Alaska Airlines is accelerating its global growth in 2025 with bold new routes to Hawaii and Asia. The airline is adding nonstop connections between California and major Hawaiian destinations while turning Seattle into a key international gateway. This expansion strengthens Alaska Airlines’ position as a dominant player across the Pacific region.
The airline will soon launch direct flights from San Francisco to Kona and Lihue, starting in June 2025. It will also connect Honolulu with Ontario and Hollywood Burbank, restoring vital travel links between the islands and California. These additions enhance convenience for travelers seeking seamless connections to Hawaii’s most popular vacation spots.
At the same time, Alaska Airlines is increasing flight frequency on existing routes from Los Angeles to Maui and San Francisco to Kona and Lihue. By mid-2026, these routes will operate daily, offering more flexibility for both leisure and business travelers. The airline will also deploy larger aircraft on key services between Seattle, Honolulu, and Sacramento to handle rising passenger demand.
Beyond Hawaii, Alaska Airlines is establishing Seattle as its global hub. Starting in May 2025, it will offer daily nonstop flights to Tokyo Narita, followed by new service to Seoul in October. The airline plans to expand to 12 long-haul destinations from Seattle by 2030, connecting North America with major Asian cities.
Domestically, Alaska Airlines will strengthen its Alaska state network with new seasonal nonstop flights from Anchorage to Detroit and Sacramento. Fairbanks will also regain daily service to Portland, providing travelers with more regional options.
With these expansions, Alaska Airlines is set to serve 142 destinations by 2026, marking the largest network in its history. The airline’s integration with Hawaiian Airlines boosts its Pacific capacity and positions it for long-term international growth.
