United Airlines has launched a year-round nonstop flight service between Tokyo Narita and Palau, significantly enhancing travel options to the Pacific paradise. This new route, starting on October 29, 2025, is the only direct connection between Japan and Palau, making it easier for travelers to explore the island’s pristine beauty.
As Japan’s tourism industry continues to grow, this direct link will boost Palau’s tourism sector. More Japanese tourists are expected to visit, as the route simplifies travel and encourages eco-conscious tourism. Furthermore, the new flight offers convenient access to Palau’s world-famous coral reefs and vibrant marine life, helping expand its ecotourism market.
Japan has seen a tourism surge, and this route comes at a crucial time. In August 2025, over 3.4 million international visitors traveled to Japan, highlighting the increasing demand for international travel. The Tokyo-Palau flight, operated by a Boeing 737-800, departs Tokyo on Wednesdays and Saturdays and returns from Palau on Sundays and Thursdays. The plane offers 166 seats, including 16 in business class, ensuring comfort for both business and leisure travelers.
This new connection benefits Palau’s hospitality sector. With more travelers coming from Japan and other regions, local businesses such as hotels and tour companies will see an increase in revenue. Moreover, this route supports sustainable tourism efforts by promoting eco-friendly travel to one of the Pacific’s most beautiful destinations.
United Airlines’ expansion into the Pacific region strengthens its network and brings Palau closer to international tourists. The added convenience of this direct flight is expected to help Palau become an even more attractive destination for ecotourism. In turn, this will benefit both the island’s economy and its commitment to preserving the environment.
