Travel chaos hit Australia today, stranding thousands of passengers due to severe flight disruptions. Airlines like Qantas and Jetstar canceled 40 flights and delayed over 800, causing havoc at major airports. The chaos affected Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and regional airports such as Adelaide, Gold Coast, and Canberra.

Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport faced the worst of the chaos. It recorded 10 cancellations and 292 delays. Sydney also struggled with 16 cancellations and 179 delays. Brisbane followed closely, with 7 cancellations and 223 delays. Regional airports like Adelaide and Canberra saw added strain, contributing to the widespread operational disruptions.

Qantas and Jetstar, both major carriers, led the disruptions. Qantas alone canceled 14 flights and delayed 155. Jetstar followed with 14 cancellations and 154 delays. Virgin Australia also faced setbacks, canceling 10 flights and causing 118 delays, further complicating travel plans for many passengers.

The scale of the flight cancellations and delays threatens to disrupt the tourism industry. With so many flights affected, passengers will likely struggle to find available hotel rooms or alternative transport.
