Ready for Seamless Global Travel? Turkish Airlines and South African Airways Just Made It Simple

Turkish Airlines and South African Airways have launched a partnership that transforms travel between Africa, Istanbul, and global destinations. This agreement, signed on December 4th, 2025, enhances international connectivity, making travel easier for African and global tourists alike.

The codeshare deal allows Turkish Airlines to place its “TK” code on many South African Airways flights. This expands the network, connecting major African cities such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban with key global hubs. Similarly, South African Airways places its “SA” code on Turkish Airlines flights. These flights link Istanbul with South African cities and top European destinations, reducing travel time and increasing direct routes for international tourists.

The deal offers a major boost to Africa’s tourism industry. Now, Turkish Airlines’ vast network connects Africa to more global destinations. As a result, tourists have easier access to the continent. Additionally, the partnership reduces layovers and simplifies travel plans, making it easier for tourists to visit multiple African cities.

This collaboration also raises Africa’s profile on the world tourism stage. Turkish Airlines’ reach into Europe, Asia, and the Americas opens new markets for African tourism operators. As a result, more people will be encouraged to visit Africa’s diverse attractions.

Looking ahead, the partnership will expand travel options. It will offer more flights, lower prices, and better global access. These changes will undoubtedly benefit Africa’s tourism sector.
