LOT Polish Airlines Opens the Golden Gate to Eastern Europe with First-Ever Direct Flights

LOT Polish Airlines has strengthened its North American network with a new nonstop San Francisco route. The airline launched the Warsaw-to-San Francisco service on May 6, 2026. Moreover, LOT Polish Airlines now connects Poland directly with another major American destination. The new route also marks the airline’s eleventh destination in the United States.

LOT Polish Airlines operates the service four times each week with Boeing 787 aircraft. Additionally, the airline uses both the 787-8 and 787-9 variants for these flights. These aircraft deliver better fuel efficiency and improved passenger comfort. Therefore, travelers can enjoy smoother long-haul journeys between Europe and California.

San Francisco adds strong value to LOT Polish Airlines’ growing international strategy. Furthermore, the city attracts technology professionals, leisure travelers, and global investors throughout the year. The route also supports stronger business ties between Poland and the American West Coast. Consequently, travelers can avoid lengthy stopovers through other European hubs.

The airline designed the schedule to improve convenience for transatlantic passengers. Evening departures from Warsaw allow travelers to reach California efficiently. Likewise, return flights from San Francisco support quick onward connections through Warsaw. Passengers can also access destinations across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East through LOT’s network.

LOT Polish Airlines continues expanding as competition rises in global aviation markets. Meanwhile, airlines increasingly target nonstop international routes to attract premium travelers. The San Francisco launch also reflects growing demand for direct long-haul services between Europe and North America. As a result, passengers now receive more travel choices and faster connections.

Although the route operates only four times weekly, the service still offers strong advantages. Travelers gain direct access between Poland and Northern California without additional layovers. However, long-haul ticket prices may remain higher during peak travel periods. Even so, the new route strengthens LOT Polish Airlines’ presence in the competitive transatlantic sector.
