Southwest Airlines Spreads Its Wings: More Nashville Services and New Hawaii Redeye Options

Southwest Airlines is gearing up for 2025 with major travel expansions. The airline, known for its budget-friendly fares, is boosting its Nashville operations and adding more overnight redeye flights from Hawaii. Southwest has extended its flight schedule through June 2025, including Memorial Day weekend, giving travelers more options.

In April 2025, Southwest will significantly grow its presence in Nashville, Tennessee. This expansion follows the recent opening of a new Flight Crew base in the city. By offering more flights and launching new routes, including the first intra-Tennessee services, Southwest is positioning Nashville as a key travel hub for the nation.

New routes will connect Nashville to cities like Albuquerque, Jackson, and Providence. This increase will bring the airline’s Nashville operations to a record high, with 174 Sunday departures by mid-2025.

At the same time, Southwest is also expanding redeye services from Hawaii to the U.S. mainland. Starting in April 2025, five new overnight flights will connect Hawaiian airports to major U.S. destinations, such as Las Vegas and Phoenix. This move aims to make mainland travel even easier for those flying from Honolulu, Kona, and Kahului.

These updates further cement Southwest Airlines as a top low-cost carrier, making travel more convenient for both leisure and business passengers. Whether flying within Tennessee or from Hawaii to the mainland, travelers can expect more flight options and improved schedules in 2025. Great news for Nashville travelers and anyone wanting a convenient redeye to Hawaii! Southwest is my go-to for domestic flights – their customer service is usually pretty good, and their prices are competitive. More options are always welcome. However, I’ve heard some complaints lately about their baggage handling… I hope they’ve addressed those issues before expanding their services.
