Virgin Atlantic is revamping its frequent flyer program to offer travelers more opportunities to book seats using points. Starting October 30th, members of the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club can use Virgin Points to pay for any seat. This new policy replaces previous limits, providing greater flexibility for members. Additionally, the airline is shifting to dynamic pricing, which aligns points needed for seats with demand. As a result, travelers in Premium cabins will earn up to 50% more points for Upper-Class seats and 75% more for Premium Class tickets. This overhaul ensures that frequent flyers receive generous rewards.
The most significant update involves the switch to dynamic pricing. This change replaces the old Guaranteed Availability policy, which only allowed points redemption for 12 seats per flight. Now, members can use Virgin Points for any seat, regardless of demand. Consequently, the points required for each seat will vary, giving travelers more options to redeem their points effectively. Ultimately, Virgin Atlantic aims to provide more value to its loyal customers through this change.
Moreover, Virgin Atlantic is launching Saver reward seats at the lowest point prices, starting at just 6,000 Virgin Points for flights to New York. This update enables budget-conscious travelers to benefit from the points system without increasing award ticket prices. Furthermore, members can upgrade to Premium or Upper-Class seats using points, whether they hold a regular or reward ticket.
In addition, changes are coming to the companion and upgrade vouchers earned by frequent flyers. These vouchers are now redeemable for any seat in any cabin. Points caps are set at 75,000 for Flying Club Red members and 150,000 for Silver or Gold members. If members need more points, they can easily top up from their balance. Virgin Red continues to integrate smoothly with Flying Club, providing members with more ways to earn and use points on Virgin Atlantic flights.
Overall, Virgin Atlantic’s loyalty program overhaul reflects its commitment to frequent travelers. With dynamic pricing, flexible points options, and new saver seats, members can maximize their points’ value. As Virgin Atlantic continues to expand, the loyalty program becomes increasingly rewarding for all types of travelers.
