AEGEAN Airlines is making bold moves with its 2025 expansion, strengthening its domestic and international network. The airline is adding exciting new direct connections, offering more travel options for passengers.
Starting in February 2025, AEGEAN will offer direct flights between Athens and Erbil, Iraq. This service will run twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. This new route marks a significant addition to AEGEAN’s growing list of international destinations. In April 2025, the airline will also resume its direct Athens-to-Baku route in Azerbaijan. The flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays, with Airbus A320neo aircraft ensuring a comfortable journey for travelers.
The domestic network will also see a significant boost. AEGEAN will introduce new direct flights from Heraklion starting in June 2025. Four new routes will connect Heraklion to popular destinations like Rhodes, Naxos, Corfu, and Kos. The Heraklion-to-Rhodes route will operate daily, while the others will run on a weekly basis. The airline will also add flights connecting Rhodes to Chania and Santorini, offering more flexibility for travelers seeking to explore Greece. Additionally, Thessaloniki will see new direct flights to Syros, starting in June 2025.
AEGEAN is not only growing its domestic network but also expanding internationally. It will increase the frequency of its Athens-Istanbul and Athens-Izmir flights. Starting in April, new routes will connect Istanbul with Heraklion, Mykonos, Rhodes, and Santorini. These routes will initially operate with two weekly flights, but during peak seasons, the frequency will increase to four times per week.
Furthermore, AEGEAN’s expansion includes new international connections. The airline has recently launched a direct route from Athens to Abu Dhabi while boosting frequencies to key European destinations like Berlin, Barcelona, and Lisbon. With these additions, AEGEAN continues to solidify its position as a leading airline in the region.
