Aegean Airlines Expands to India with Direct Greece Flights

Aegean Airlines will soon enter the Indian market in 2026 with a bold expansion plan. Therefore, the airline will partner with Bird Travels to operate direct flights from New Delhi and Mumbai to Athens. Consequently, this step opens a fast and premium gateway for Indian travelers to Greece and Europe.

From March 2026, Aegean Airlines will launch five weekly flights from New Delhi to Athens. Meanwhile, in May 2026, three weekly flights from Mumbai will follow. As a result, these routes will let Indian passengers connect directly to Greece and Aegean’s European network without layovers.

To prepare for this launch, the airline will deploy two Airbus A321neo XLR aircraft. Furthermore, these jets can fly up to 10.5 hours and feature 24 Business Class suites. Additionally, the cabins will include high-speed Wi-Fi, 4K screens, and enhanced comfort features. Thus, the design will ensure passengers arrive refreshed and ready for their journey.

Bird Travels will manage sales, marketing, and customer support for Aegean Airlines in India. Moreover, their deep market knowledge will help build strong demand for the Greece connection. Together, both companies will create a smooth travel experience from booking to boarding.

Aegean Airlines views this launch as part of a broader growth strategy. Consequently, the airline will add more Airbus A321neo XLRs by 2028. Furthermore, new destinations under review include Bengaluru, Seychelles, Maldives, and Nairobi. Hence, this growth will strengthen the airline’s long-haul network and global reach.

Ultimately, direct access to Greece will boost tourism and business between India and Europe. Therefore, passengers will enjoy faster travel, premium services, and convenient European connections. With this strategic step, Aegean Airlines positions itself as a leading bridge between India and the Mediterranean.
