Aeromexico continues to strengthen its international network with bold expansion across North America and the Caribbean. As a result, the airline will launch two new routes: Cancun to Raleigh-Durham and Mexico City to San Juan. These routes will begin in late 2025 and aim to meet the region’s growing travel demand.
Starting December 19, Aeromexico will fly daily from Cancun to Raleigh-Durham through April 2026. This new service aligns with peak holiday and spring travel periods. Therefore, travelers in North Carolina will enjoy easier access to Cancun’s beaches and resorts. Meanwhile, Aeromexico deepens its reach into a market underserved by Latin American carriers.
Additionally, on October 29, Aeromexico will connect Mexico City with San Juan four times each week. This route reconnects two cultural and economic hubs across Latin America. Furthermore, Puerto Rico offers visa-free access for U.S. citizens, making it a popular and convenient getaway. In fact, tourism in Puerto Rico has rebounded quickly in recent years.
Aeromexico will operate both routes using its Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Consequently, travelers will benefit from a quieter cabin, improved fuel savings, and reliable onboard technology. The fleet includes upgraded seating, fast Wi-Fi, and full entertainment options across business and economy.
Earlier in 2024, Aeromexico added routes to Phoenix, Tampa, and Raleigh. Now, with Cancun and San Juan added, its regional network expands even further. The airline, having exited bankruptcy, now focuses on efficient growth and key partnerships.
Thanks to its joint venture with Delta, Aeromexico taps into broader U.S. markets with ease. As a result, it serves both leisure and business travelers while boosting its transborder visibility. Overall, this expansion signals Aeromexico’s confidence in future travel trends.
