Air Astana Expands to Frankfurt with New Route

Air Astana expands its European network with a new thrice-weekly route from Almaty to Frankfurt. Starting June 1st, 2025, the airline will operate the service using the Airbus A321LR. The new flights are available for booking. This marks Air Astana’s third connection to Germany. It adds to its routes from Astana and Uralsk to Frankfurt, strengthening the airline’s presence in Europe.

Germany has always been a key market for Air Astana, which first launched flights to the country in 2003. The carrier operates a daily service between Astana and Frankfurt using a Boeing 767. It also offers a weekly route from Uralsk on an Airbus A320. The new Almaty-Frankfurt link will simplify travel between Kazakhstan and Germany. Passengers can now fly point-to-point or connect through Air Astana’s network.

This winter, Air Astana continues to grow. The airline, with a fleet of 57 aircraft, will soon receive seven new Airbus A321LRs. These planes are part of the airline’s plan to expand to 80 aircraft by 2028. Air Astana also uses its A321LRs for other European routes, including Heraklion in Greece and Podgorica in Montenegro. These new aircraft help Air Astana expand long-haul flights, including the longest nonstop Airbus A321LR flight to London Heathrow.

The Almaty-Frankfurt route is a significant milestone for Air Astana. It strengthens the airline’s position in Europe. Lufthansa, a fellow Star Alliance member, operates a similar service on the same route. However, Air Astana aims to provide better connectivity for its passengers. The airline’s ambitious growth plans show its commitment to offering expanded options for leisure and business travelers. This makes Air Astana a vital link between Kazakhstan and Europe.
