Air France Reduces Flights to Atlanta & Boston This Summer

Air France is making changes to its North American routes, reducing flights to Atlanta and Boston during summer 2025. This move comes despite summer being a peak travel season when demand for transatlantic flights typically surges.

Starting March 31, Air France will cut three weekly flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) to Atlanta, bringing the total down to 18. From May 6 to June 1, and again from July 1 to August 31, the airline will further reduce flights to 17 per week. To accommodate passenger demand, Air France will still operate high-capacity Boeing 777-200ER and -300ER aircraft on this route.

The Boston route will also see changes. From June 2 to August 30, Air France will reduce its Paris CDG to Boston flights from 17 to 14 per week. The airline uses Airbus A350-900 jets on this route, offering seating for up to 324 passengers. This reduction means the weekly seat capacity will drop from around 5,300 to 4,600.

These cuts may be linked to Air France’s close partnership with Delta Air Lines. Since Delta operates a hub in Atlanta and runs transatlantic flights from Boston, Air France could be shifting some travelers to Delta flights. This strategy allows Air France to free up aircraft for other routes within its network.

Despite these reductions, Air France is still expanding in North America. The airline recently increased service to Phoenix and announced new flights to Orlando. Later this year, it also plans to launch five weekly flights to Denver.

While the airline is adjusting frequencies on certain routes, it remains committed to North American expansion. Travelers should check schedules carefully as summer approaches.
