Air India Accelerates Global Growth with New Flights

Air India is rapidly expanding its presence in domestic and international markets. The airline is boosting connectivity while modernizing its fleet to enhance passenger experience. Recent developments include securing a major USD 215 million loan and launching additional flights from Delhi to Milan, Kuala Lumpur, and Bali. These steps show Air India’s determination to strengthen its position in the competitive aviation industry.

The airline recently arranged financing through GIFT City to fund fleet expansion. This innovative loan supports acquiring new aircraft and upgrading existing planes. Air India plans to use the funds to refinance six Boeing 777-300ERs while continuing a large-scale fleet renewal program. The airline is also nearing completion of Airbus A320neo upgrades, improving comfort across Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins.

Operational challenges emerged when a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner faced a technical issue, leading to a canceled Milan-Delhi flight. Air India responded quickly by arranging a special flight, accommodating passengers with meals, hotels, and flexible rebooking options. This approach highlighted the airline’s focus on passenger care and reliability during busy travel periods.

Air India is also increasing its flight network with 174 new weekly services starting October 26, 2025. Internationally, flights to Kuala Lumpur and Denpasar will see higher frequency. Domestic travelers benefit from new routes, including daily services from Delhi to Jaipur and Delhi to Jaisalmer, while popular routes such as Delhi-Udaipur and Mumbai-Jaipur gain additional daily flights.

These initiatives align with Air India’s five-year transformation plan, which includes ordering 570 new aircraft to strengthen its global reach. By modernizing its fleet and expanding flights, the airline aims to offer seamless travel experiences and position itself as a global leader. Air India’s strategic moves promise improved connectivity and enhanced passenger satisfaction in the coming years.
