Air India Express has introduced a new biweekly direct service between Chennai and Muscat, responding to the rising travel demand on this route. As a result, passengers now have more convenient options for seamless travel. The first flight took off on February 4, marking an important milestone for the airline.
Since this route connects India and Oman, it benefits both business travelers and tourists. Moreover, the airline operates flights every Tuesday and Friday, ensuring flexibility for passengers. The Chennai-Muscat flight departs in the afternoon, while the return journey takes off in the evening, allowing for efficient scheduling.
Due to increasing passenger demand, Air India Express may introduce more flights soon. In fact, Chennai Airport officials have hinted at a potential frequency increase, which could lead to daily operations. Consequently, this expansion aligns with the airline’s strategy to strengthen international connectivity and enhance travel experiences.
Additionally, competitive pricing makes this new service even more attractive for travelers. February fares range from ₹8,052 to ₹8,671, providing affordability along with convenience. Furthermore, while other airlines, such as IndiGo, Oman Air, and SalamAir, also operate on this route, Air India Express focuses on delivering a budget-friendly and reliable option.
Muscat remains a key destination for both leisure and transit travelers. Not only do many passengers visit Muscat for tourism, but they also use it as a connecting hub for long-haul flights to cities like London and Moscow. Given the steady rise in air traffic between India and Oman, this new service plays a crucial role. Ultimately, Air India Express continues to expand its reach, ensuring passengers enjoy affordable and efficient travel.
