Air India introduces an innovative service that offers last-minute flexibility for travelers. The ‘Fly Prior’ initiative lets passengers switch to an earlier flight on the same day, up to 12 hours before their original booking. This new service, launched on November 10, 2024, will be available at major hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, providing more convenience for domestic travelers.
With ‘Fly Prior,’ the airline gives travelers an affordable, flexible solution for sudden changes in plans. Whether for business or personal reasons, passengers can now quickly catch an earlier flight and avoid delays. For instance, a business traveler finishing a meeting early can easily catch a flight to their next destination. As a result, this service eliminates high rebooking fees, provided seats are available in the same class as the original booking.
Furthermore, the flexibility of ‘Fly Prior’ will greatly benefit frequent travelers. Air India offers this service free for loyal customers, including Gold and Platinum members of the Flying Returns program. Moreover, non-loyalty members can access it for a small fee, depending on the route. Once the new flight is booked, passengers will seamlessly transfer to the earlier flight. The airline moves any checked baggage and additional services to the new booking automatically.
In addition, ‘Fly Prior’ enhances customer experience as part of Air India’s transformation under the Vihaan.AI plan. This service adds to the airline’s efforts to improve its offerings and stand out in a competitive market. As Vistara merges with Air India, the airline will maintain its competitive edge by focusing on customer satisfaction.
Ultimately, ‘Fly Prior’ shows that Air India is ready to meet the growing demand for flexible travel options. Therefore, the service sets a new standard for domestic air travel.
