Air India’s flight from Mumbai to Dubai experienced a significant delay due to a technical failure. The delay lasted over four and a half hours, leaving passengers stranded at the airport. Originally scheduled for 8:25 AM, the flight could not depart on time. Boarding, set for 7:20 AM, also faced delays, frustrating passengers.
Flight AI909 faced a severe technical issue that caused the delay. By 1:15 PM, passengers remained at the airport with no clear departure time. The disruption disrupted their travel plans, causing mounting frustration as they waited for updates.
Other flights between India and Istanbul also faced major delays. Recently, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Istanbul was delayed by more than 18 hours. Passengers waited at the airport until the airline arranged accommodations, causing many to miss their connecting flights.
Another IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Istanbul faced a 16-hour delay. Travelers endured multiple security checks and boarding attempts before finally departing. In December, an even longer delay stranded passengers for two days at Istanbul Airport, raising concerns about the reliability of these routes.
Despite being one of the world’s most connected airports, Istanbul Airport has faced operational issues. It serves as a key transit hub for travelers from India and many other regions, connecting passengers to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. However, these disruptions raise concerns about the airport’s reliability.
The Air India delay adds to the growing concern over the reliability of long-haul flights from major airports. Such delays inconvenience passengers and hurt airlines’ reputations, including Air India, which must improve operational efficiency to retain customer trust.
