Air New Zealand is transforming its loyalty program with a new Koru Black tier, launching in April 2026. The upgraded program aims to provide enhanced benefits for frequent flyers and elevate the travel experience. With this change, the airline strengthens its commitment to rewarding loyal customers and boosting New Zealand’s tourism sector.
The Koru Black tier offers exclusive benefits, such as faster security access at Auckland Domestic Airport, valet parking, and special upgrades. To qualify, members must earn 3,200 Status Points, with 1,920 points from qualifying flights. Beyond 2026, Koru Black members can extend benefits to friends and family through the Koru Circle package.
Air New Zealand also simplifies its loyalty structure, offering clearer distinctions across membership levels. The new tiers—Koru Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Black—are easier to navigate. Members will earn bonuses and enjoy more recognition based on loyalty.
The program also introduces digital tools to manage points more efficiently. These updates will improve convenience for travelers, making it easier to earn and redeem rewards.
The Koru Black tier promises to strengthen New Zealand’s tourism economy by encouraging repeat visits and spending. With exclusive benefits and personalized rewards, the revamped program aims to provide an exceptional travel experience.
