AirAsia has urged travelers to prepare for possible delays during the Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2025), which will take place from May 20 to 24. This biennial event attracts thousands of visitors and increases regional air traffic significantly. Due to restricted airspace and higher aircraft movement, flight schedules may experience unexpected changes. AirAsia recommends travelers take proactive steps to stay updated and enjoy smooth journeys throughout this peak period.
Travelers flying with AirAsia to or from Langkawi during the event should monitor their flight status consistently. The airline encourages everyone to use the AirAsia MOVE app to manage travel efficiently. This app allows passengers to check in up to 14 days before departure and access real-time updates. It also supports mobile boarding passes, which speed up the boarding process. Travelers can upload visa photos in the app and receive boarding passes instantly.
AirAsia advises arriving at the airport early—at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international departures. This helps avoid delays caused by longer queues during the event. The airline has set strict counter closure times: 45 minutes before takeoff at Malaysian airports and one hour at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Guests needing special assistance, such as those with reduced mobility or those traveling with infants, should request services early using the MOVE app. The app also allows passengers to add baggage or increase allowance up to four hours before departure. This flexibility ensures smoother processing at baggage kiosks and drop-off points.
AirAsia continues to improve digital tools to simplify air travel. With real-time alerts and flexible options, passengers can stay ahead of schedule during busy travel times like LIMA 2025.
