airBaltic, the world’s largest operator of the Airbus A220-300, celebrates eight years of success with this revolutionary aircraft. Since becoming the global launch customer in 2016, the airline has greatly expanded its reach. In December of that year, airBaltic’s inaugural A220-300 flight connected Riga with Amsterdam. This milestone marked the beginning of a new era in air travel for the airline.
Today, airBaltic operates a fleet of 49 Airbus A220-300 planes. Furthermore, the airline has secured a firm order for 40 additional aircraft and options for 10 more. These new additions will solidify airBaltic’s leadership as the largest global operator of the A220-300. As a result, the airline is well-positioned to meet growing demand across its routes.
Since integrating the Airbus A220-300 into its fleet, airBaltic has carried over 17.88 million passengers. Moreover, the airline’s planes have completed almost 192,000 flights, covering around 422,000 block hours. These figures highlight the aircraft’s reliability and airBaltic’s commitment to operational efficiency.
Not only does the Airbus A220-300 deliver impressive performance and fuel efficiency, but it also enhances the overall flying experience. For example, passengers enjoy wider seats, larger windows, and more space for hand luggage. As a result, passengers find their journeys more comfortable and convenient.
airBaltic’s extensive network spans more than 130 routes. The airline serves destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus. Additionally, it offers seasonal services from Gran Canaria, connecting even more travelers to airBaltic’s expanding global network.
Moving forward, airBaltic remains dedicated to expanding its fleet and improving customer satisfaction. The A220-300 will continue to play a key role in this growth, offering passengers better connectivity and enhanced travel options.
