Alaska Airlines will transform its Mileage Plan in January 2025. This update will provide enhanced benefits and faster paths to elite status for members. The program will streamline how travelers earn elite-qualifying miles (EQMs). Consequently, members can begin earning from just 10,000 EQMs. Additionally, they can enjoy flexible perks such as bonus miles, lounge access, and rollover EQMs. These rewards will be available at various milestones, including 30,000; 55,000; 85,000; 150,000; 200,000; and 250,000 EQMs. Therefore, this revamped approach aims to make travel rewarding for everyone.
One standout feature of the 2025 Mileage Plan is that members will earn EQMs on award travel. As a result, they will gain miles even when using award tickets. For instance, a round-trip award from Seattle to Tokyo-Narita will yield about 9,538 EQMs. This feature significantly brings members closer to elite status. Furthermore, Alaska Airlines Visa® cardholders will earn one elite-qualifying mile for every $3 spent, with a cap of 30,000 EQMs.
Moreover, the program will also offer 1,000 EQMs for every 3,000 miles earned with eligible partners, like rides with Lyft. In addition, members who reach the 85,000 EQMs milestone can roll over 10,000 EQMs to the following year. This feature gives them a head start on maintaining elite status. Overall, these earning opportunities make the Mileage Plan accessible and beneficial for all members.
Lastly, Alaska Airlines’ partnerships with 30 domestic and international airlines will broaden travel options. As a result, members will have access to over 1,200 destinations worldwide. They will earn 100% of the miles flown with 23 direct partners. Additionally, premium cabin travelers will receive extra mileage bonuses. By continuously improving its Mileage Plan, Alaska Airlines shows its commitment to providing exceptional value and a rewarding travel experience.
