Alaska Airlines has honored its dedicated employees with a remarkable bonus after a year of significant achievements. The airline’s workforce of 23,000 employees faced many challenges in 2024, including a major setback when a third of its fleet was grounded. Despite these hurdles, the team remained committed to safety and performance, helping to restore the airline’s reputation for reliability.
By the end of the year, Alaska Airlines rewarded its team with a Performance-Based Pay (PBP) program that included over 11% in additional pay, which amounted to about six weeks’ worth of salary. This payout recognized the dedication and hard work of the airline’s employees in key areas like safety, fuel efficiency, and customer service.
The company’s PBP program stands out because it unites the entire workforce under common goals. Instead of just focusing on profits, the program aligns employees with priorities that matter most, ensuring a collective effort towards success. The additional pay came on top of around $22.7 million in operational bonuses for the year, further emphasizing Alaska Airlines’ commitment to rewarding its team for exceptional performance.
In 2024, the airline also made major strides through a strategic merger with Hawaiian Airlines, an exciting move that will bring expanded benefits to its customers. As Alaska Airlines looks ahead to the future, the company remains committed to delivering an outstanding travel experience, driven by safety, care, and top-notch service.
